Please join Dr. Rhonda L. Lenton, York University’s 8th president and vice-chancellor, for a special alumni reception on her first official visit to the UK on Thursday, October 5.

You'll have the opportunity to hear from Dr. Lenton about the incredible changes that are taking place at York University and her bold vision for the future. You’ll also get an update on how York University’s most ambitious campaign is progressing and discover ways you can get involved.

Joining President Lenton will be Dezsö J. Horváth, CM, dean of the Schulich School of Business and Norma Sue Fisher-Stitt, interim dean of the School of Arts, Media, Performance and Design. As always, you’ll be able to see or reconnect with old friends and make new ones.

Scholars Hub Speakers Series @ Markham Public Library - Markham Village Branch

Markham Public Library and York University invite you to the Scholars Hub Speaker Series. The partnership brings some of York’s top academic minds to York Region.

The series, titled "Change How You See The World: Academia for Modern Life" will feature talks and expertise on climate change, sustainable energy solutions, and social responsibility.

The series will take place at the Markham Village Branch located at 6031 Highway 7. Each talk is from 7pm to 8:30pm, and for added convenience, childcare is provided for schoolage children ages 4-12.

The York Circle Lecture and Lunch Series is held four times a year and is open to our community of alumni and friends.

CANY's Canadian Universities Alumni Reception: Celebrating Canada 150 and Canadian University Excellence in NYC @ Penn Club

Along with several Canadian universities, York University is partnering with the Canadian Association of New York (CANY) to invite you to the 19th Annual Canadian Universities Alumni Reception on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 6:30-9:30pm. This event will be hosted by CANY and take place at the Penn Club of New York.

CANY is excited to reintroduce this very popular event to the Canadian calendar in celebration of Canada 150 and Canadian university excellence. This is great opportunity for York alumni to meet and network with fellow Canadian university alumni in NYC. Representatives from many of Canada's universities, including York University, and the Canadian Consulate in New York will be there to join in on all the fun.

There are hundreds of York University alumni like you building successful careers in and around the Big Apple. This event will be memorable and a great way for York alumni to manifest their presence in style.

Please join us for a fun evening that will provide the perfect chance to gather with friends both new and old and share fond memories of your university days back in Canada. Ticket price includes an open bar (beer and wine) and passed hors d'oeuvres.
